Hard to believe that this was once the capital of Egypt for a brief period during a time when the area was ruled by Libya.

Today very little remains to be seen and admired. The temple of Baset has been well preserved but to imagine the thousands of Pilgrims which gathered here during the Greek Historian Herodoctors visit is difficult. The city of Bubastis would have been an impressive site during its time. Just let you imagination go into overdrive.
