Built by Sneferu the father of Khufu who was the builder of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

These two pyramids virtually stand alone in the desert. The first was abandoned by Sneferu and so he built himself another one. The bent pyramid provides an insight though into the thought process around constructing the pyramids unlike those of Saqqara.
