Fayoum Oasis was formed over 70,000 years ago when the River Nile flooded the area that is now fed by a series of canals.
It has, however, many archaeological sites including Karanis, a ruined 3rd Century site and also a small temple dedicated to Sobek.

It also has its own share of Pyramids with four examples to discover and explore.
