Medinat Habu
in Association with Q.E.A

The Temple of Habu

One of the main temples visited by us on horse back lying on the edge of the Western Sahara Desert.

Possibly one of the best preserved temples on the West Bank. Built by Ramses III of the 20th Dynasty, (1184 - 1153 B.C) with various smaller temples built by Queen Hatshepsut and Ramses. The temple complex offers a diverse range of architectural development which was occupied by the Coptic Christians until the 9th century and then the plague forced them to leave.

Medinat Habu offers you an insight into the Pharonic history with its well preserved original colourings to its columns and walls. This temple would have been an impressive sight on the horizon of the desert.
