The
Temple of Hatshepsut or more commonly known as Deir al-Bahri
which means 'Northern Monastery'. Built by Pharaoh Hatshepsut
in the 18th Dynasty. The site today rises from the desert
floor with its terraced levels and stepped ramps providing
a truly impressive sight to any visitor.
Surrounded however by ruined temples built by Tuthmosis
III and Montuhotep II. This site would surely have been
the 8th Wonder of the world during its heyday. With its
tree lined pathways and Sphinx lined roadway leading down
to the Nile.
Pharaoh Hatshepsut herself still proves to be one of the
most Colourful Pharaoh's of her time surrounded by mystery,
intrigue and great achievements.
