For over 5000 years the Kings & Queens and including the Nobles used Saqqara as their burial ground and place of worship.
Saqqara is still providing the Egyptologist with new and exciting finds that are constantly providing yet more knowledge of Ancient Egypt. The site of Saqqara boasts the first pyramid of Djoser which was built by Imhotep.

Saqqara was only found however in 1850 by a French schoolteacher named Auguste Mariette.
